Mr T’s Phonics is part of Rainbow Bridge Education, a trading name of Queue Press Limited (“Queue Press”, “Rainbow Bridge”, “we”, “our” or “us”). We are a company registered in England and Wales, with company number 07300237, and our registered office is at York Hub, Popeshead Court Offices, Peter Lane, York, North Yorkshire, YO1 8SU.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use mrtsphonics.com (the “site”), how we use it, who we share it with and your rights. Queue Press Limited is the data controller for this information. If you have any questions, please email us at hello@queuepress.co.uk.

The app section below explains how our Mr T’s Phonics with Geraldine app handles information (in short: it doesn’t collect any).

The information we collect

We only collect the information we need. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:

  • Newsletter sign-ups: your name and email address, and the IP address you signed up from (kept as a record of your consent).
  • Enquiries: your name, email address and anything you include in your message when you email or write to us.
  • Account registration: if you register on the site, your email address and any other details you choose to give us.
  • Orders: if you buy from our online shop, your name, email address, billing and delivery address and order details. Our shop runs on Shopify, and payments are processed securely by Shopify and its payment providers: we never see your full card details.
  • Technical and security information: like any website, our web server and security software record information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the date and time, to keep the site running and protect it from attacks and spam.
  • Visitor statistics: we use Koko Analytics, which runs on our own website, to count page views. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t record your IP address and doesn’t identify you.

Our site is aimed at parents, carers and teachers. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children through the site.

How we use your information, and our legal basis

Data protection law requires us to have a legal basis for each way we use your information:

  • To send you our newsletter, based on your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by emailing us.
  • To answer your enquiries, based on our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us.
  • To process and deliver your orders, because it is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To run, secure and improve the site, including preventing spam and fraud and understanding which pages are popular, based on our legitimate interests.
  • To keep records we’re required to keep, such as accounting records, to comply with our legal obligations.

We don’t use your information for advertising or profiling, and we never sell or rent it to anyone.

Who we share your information with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site. They may only use your information to provide their service to us, and must keep it secure:

  • 123 Reg: hosts our website.
  • Campaign Monitor: sends our newsletter and stores our mailing list.
  • Shopify: runs our online shop and processes orders and payments.
  • Google: provides reCAPTCHA spam protection on our forms, the fonts used on the site and the YouTube videos embedded on some pages.
  • Cloudflare: delivers the videos, worksheets and other files used by our apps.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the United Kingdom, for example in the United States, Canada or Australia, so your information may be processed there. When this happens, we make sure it is protected, for example because the UK government has confirmed that the country gives adequate protection, or by using contract terms approved by the UK Information Commissioner.

How long we keep your information

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Enquiries: for up to two years after our last contact, unless we need it for longer to deal with a complaint.
  • Accounts: until you ask us to close your account.
  • Orders: for six years, to meet UK accounting and tax rules.
  • Server and security logs: for a short period, usually no more than a few months.

Keeping your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), firewall and login protection, and limiting access to people who need it. No website can be completely secure, but if a data breach affecting your information ever happens, we will act quickly to contain it and will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office where the law requires us to.

Cookies

Please see our Cookie Policy for information about the small number of cookies used on the site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it, including for direct marketing;
  • ask us to transfer information you gave us to you or another organisation; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, email us at hello@queuepress.co.uk. We will reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Mr T’s Phonics with Geraldine app

The Mr T’s Phonics with Geraldine app is published by Queue Press Limited (trading as Rainbow Bridge Education). The app is designed for young children and their families. We do not collect, store or share any personal information through the app.

  • The app has no accounts, sign-ins, advertising, analytics or tracking, and no third-party software that collects data.
  • Children’s first names or nicknames, chosen pictures, progress, stars and stickers are stored only on the device, and are deleted if the app is deleted.
  • Purchases are made through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We do not receive any payment or personal details; Apple’s or Google’s privacy policy applies to those purchases.
  • Videos, worksheets and guides are downloaded from our media server when needed. Like any website, the server receives the request, but we don’t use it to identify anyone.
  • Links that leave the app (worksheets and printable guides) and purchases are behind an adult check, so children can’t reach them without help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last reviewed.
